City councils are legislative bodies that make decisions and policies on behalf of the local community. The duties and powers of a council member involves:
Community Engagement
Engaging with the community, attending public meetings, hearing citizen feedback, and addressing constituent inquiries or concerns.
Legislative Functions
Participating in the formulation and adoption of local laws, ordinances, resolutions, and policies
Committee Work
Serving on various council committees or task forces to address specific issues or areas of governance, such as finance, public safety, planning, or transportation.
